Job Overview: (Hiring 3 positions for the Tyrone, Duncansville and Roaring Springs locations) The Personal Lines Customer Service Representative is responsible for the production of new insurance sales, specifically homeowner, auto, and/or personal lines insurance. They will develop and pursue sales opportunities by initiating sales calls and pursuing leads while servicing new and existing Personal Lines Client Accounts. This candidate is the initial point of contact for prospects and policyholders on all products and coverages. This includes responding to customer questions, amending policies, explaining available services and products and providing information on pricing We have locations in Tyrone, Duncansville, Roaring Spring and Indiana. As a Personal Lines Customer Service Rep, you will be required to obtain and maintain a valid PA Property and Casualty Producer license. We expect the Insurance Producer to maintain a professional and positive attitude, while networking and building customer and client relationships.

We are currently looking for existing outgoing and dedicated Insurance Sales Representatives and motivated, experienced customer focused talent who are interested in a rewarding career in insurance sales and customer service. Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day maintenance and servicing of assigned Personal Lines accounts
  • Respond to client inquiries, incoming e-mail, mail, and company requests in accordance with agency guidelines
  • Sell personal, life, and business insurance
  • Service personal, life, and business insurance
  • Customize insurance policies and advise clients
  • Maintain a high level of client service and satisfaction
  • Obtain prospects and actively pursue and create interest by telephone calls, emails, writing letters, or making personal visits.
  • Set appointments and/or client calls to support producer, call on new business, discuss existing policies, review liability limits and exposures, explore other coverage needs, evaluate replacement costs, round out accounts, and bind renewals
  • Manage the sales cycle from start to finish through active listening, negotiation, and closing new business as well as providing quotes, premiums, and comparing rates
  • Work with new clients in an effort to understand their needs, gather necessary data, research policy options, present options, finalize and bind new coverage, cancel old policies, and negotiate with carriers when necessary
  • Provide servicing to existing clients related to customizing insurance plans, updating policies, providing, quotes, taking payments, answering questions and providing documentation
  • Conduct a policy review and engages with probing questions to develop a thorough understanding of the clients’ needs and recommend coverages
  • Advise and counsel customers on coverage options and help them understand their insurance decisions.
  • Explain features, advantages, and disadvantages of various policies to promote the sale of insurance policies
  • Customize insurance programs to suit individual customers offering a variety of risks.
  • Develop and promote strong relationships with prospects and clients to generate new business and maintain existing business through networking opportunities, conducting educational presentations, participating in agency marketing events, community events, association events and professional development activities within the market
  • Develop marketing strategies to compete with other individuals or companies in our industry
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement and implement initiatives to increase cost savings, efficiency, or effectiveness.
  • Prioritize and manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of transactions
  • Achieve pre-determined sales goals
  • Maintain connections and relationships with multiple carriers within the network
  • Perform administrative duties as needed such as answering phones, paperwork and in office job functions such as greeting visitors
  • Collaborate with team members, mentor staff, provide expertise, answer questions, and participate in meetings as needed
  • Foster a collaborative working dynamic with team members for effective communication and support throughout the sales process
  • Active in the local community
  • Participate in courses for insurance/sales skills. Maintain current knowledge of underwriting requirements of carriers. Keep current with industry trends by reading appropriate journals and company bulletins
  • Participate in any special projects at management’s request
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Must be able to pass a Criminal and Credit Background Check
  • PA P&C license preferred
  • Current PA Life and Health Licenses preferred
  • Experience in Insurance preferred, Benefits and Health Insurance experience is helpful
  • Connections within the local communities and independently involved in the local community preferred
